Parades + Pizza

This morning we went to the 25th Annual Children's Medical Center Holiday Parade in Dallas. We didn't have the best view, but it was still fun for all of us to get out of the house. After we walked around downtown a little bit, we ate at our favorite pizza place, Grimaldi's. Later on we participated in our town's parade, meaning we both watched + participated in a parade in a single day.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas (in Yearbook)

Today in yearbook I walked in & sat down. Then I noticed the Christmas decorations. I'm fairly certain I squealed. Needless to say, December is one of my favorite months. I'm so beyond excited to see all the Christmas decorations start being put up all over the place.

Waiting

Currently, I am waiting. & let me tell you, it's not always easy.

El Salvador

Today I received a sweet gift from a friend who just got back from El Salvador. I love thinking about where this tiny toy has been.

Election Day

Today it occurred to me how unique today really is. My day consisted of filming (on two cameras!), knitting, & watching HGTV + the election results.

Hibachi

Today we celebrated my mom's birthday by going to a hibachi grill.

Also, I pinky promise that, after this week, I will get back to blogging.

3 cities, 34 hours

This weekend we went around New Braunfels, San Antonio, & Schertz within 34 hours. We saw the most absurd gas station (Buc-ee's), walked the Riverwalk, & had Hibachi for the first time. It was nice to get out of town, even if only for a day.

Birthday

One year ago today my dad stood in line for my iPhone 4S. On his birthday. I love my dad. He definitely has flaws, but so do the rest of us. He's by far the most intelligent person I know. He stands up for what he believes in, and, most importantly, he protects his wife + family. If I marry someone half as amazing as him, I'll be a lucky girl. I'm so thankful to have him as my father.

Life

I blame my absence on football.

Last night we won 49-28, & at their homecoming. Sorry?

A baby, Bible, moon, & slush

These really are some of my very favorite things:
- eating breakfast by this cutie
- having Bible study with lots of blankets & girls I've known for years
- a pretty moon
- a tasty slush

10

Today I cut off 10+" of my hair. It's a big change, that's for sure, but I love it so far!

Lunch

Sometimes, as in every school day, I eat lunch with these chicas. Today Kalyn took my phone & took this picture. Me? I'm the one with the hands over my face.

Lemonade

Today...practice was short & I drank lemonade while filming it, so I'd say practice wasn't too bad today.

Film

Film has pretty much been my life the last few weeks. It's tiring, but worth it.

Homecoming Festivities

Today...
- I got to wear my mum! My favorite part of it? The hashtag. (:
- I ate some Chick-Fil-A.
- I filmed my first varsity game, which also happened to be the Homecoming game. We won 20-7!

Homecoming Parade

Today after school we had the Homecoming Parade. I felt awkward, but it was kind of fun to see some people I know.

People are actually bananas

Tonight I had a revelation: people are like bananas. Now before you write me off as insane, hear me out.

When you look at a banana, you can tell if it's bruised on the inside or not. At least that's what you think. As you can see in the below picture, my banana looks just fine. Take away the peel, though, and you can see that it was icky inside. I think people are like that. Some of us put up a front to make it look like we're fine, but when people get to know us they see that we're actually bruised. Some bananas, though, look sick to begin with. The peel and the inside are gross. I do everything to avoid people AND bananas like that. Why? Because I know those bananas will be gross (aside from those that are actually fine when you take away the peel...). I avoid people like that because I don't want to deal with them. That's something I'm working on, so we won't get into that now.

What is the point of this post? You've heard it before, but don't judge a book by it's cover, or, in this case, a banana by it's peel/a person by how they act.

"Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace." - Romans 8:5, 6 NIV

Fire

I don't know if you can tell, but I love the sky. Sunsets, specifically. This evening I went to Bible study, and when we finished up we looked across the street to see this. Thank you, God.

"For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God."
- Psalm 62:5-7, ESV
