The Harbor

We have lived in North Texas my whole life, so we have been to quite a few of the things that people usually go to see. Back in August, my parents first explored this little outdoor mall area on Lake Ray Hubbard. We knew we all had today off, but it took us hours to figure out what to do. Eventually, we decided to head back out to where they went. It was pretty chilly, but we only stayed out there long enough to walk around and take some pictures.

Hitting It Up

I'm 90% sure that title is not correct golf lingo. Oh well.

Today we went to Top Golf in Allen for the first time as a family. Overall, a pretty fun experience! My observations:
1) I do not care to do the technical golfing stance. I get halfway into it & then just hit the ball. YOLO?
2) Injecting chocolate &/or raspberry into donut holes is weird. I did not actually try one, but it was still weird.
3) My ideal time to go would probably not be on a Sunday afternoon when everyone else is there.
4) Get the kid's pizza instead of the chicken poppers. Seriously.

ps - tonight was the first episode of this season's Celebrity Apprentice & I already want to stop watching. Ugh.

Parades + Pizza

This morning we went to the 25th Annual Children's Medical Center Holiday Parade in Dallas. We didn't have the best view, but it was still fun for all of us to get out of the house. After we walked around downtown a little bit, we ate at our favorite pizza place, Grimaldi's. Later on we participated in our town's parade, meaning we both watched + participated in a parade in a single day.

Hibachi

Today we celebrated my mom's birthday by going to a hibachi grill.

Also, I pinky promise that, after this week, I will get back to blogging.

3 cities, 34 hours

This weekend we went around New Braunfels, San Antonio, & Schertz within 34 hours. We saw the most absurd gas station (Buc-ee's), walked the Riverwalk, & had Hibachi for the first time. It was nice to get out of town, even if only for a day.

Birthday

One year ago today my dad stood in line for my iPhone 4S. On his birthday. I love my dad. He definitely has flaws, but so do the rest of us. He's by far the most intelligent person I know. He stands up for what he believes in, and, most importantly, he protects his wife + family. If I marry someone half as amazing as him, I'll be a lucky girl. I'm so thankful to have him as my father.

A baby, Bible, moon, & slush

These really are some of my very favorite things:
- eating breakfast by this cutie
- having Bible study with lots of blankets & girls I've known for years
- a pretty moon
- a tasty slush

Dinner by the lake

Tonight we had dinner with friends. This is a view of the lake from the deck of the restaurant. Not too shabby.

"The LORD is my shepherd.
I lack nothing.
He lets me rest in grassy meadows;
he leads me to restful waters;
he keeps me alive.
He guides me in proper paths
for the sake of his good name.
Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger
because you are with me.
Your rod and your staff—
they protect me.
You set a table for me
right in front of my enemies.
You bathe my head in oil;
my cup is so full it spills over!
Yes, goodness and faithful love
will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the LORD’s house
as long as I live."

- Psalms 23:1-6, CEB

Flowers, Glass, & Buildings - oh my!

This evening I went to the Dallas Arboretum's Chihuly Nights exhibit with my sisters. If you're ever in the Dallas area & you have the opportunity to go to the Dallas Arboretum, GO! It's very large, & very beautiful. If you can make it between now & November 5th, when the exhibit closes, then do it! It was absolutely lovely.

Galveston: Day 2

Our second day in Galveston was jam-packed with a morning walk on the beach (which included that strange, pink thing), reading by the pool, eating amazing food at Landry's, & making a friend on a 10pm beach walk.

Galveston: Day 1

The very first place we went after we checked in to our condo was The Spot. We went for the first time in March, & came back this time because of the shrimp kisses + the ocean view.

On vacation

I'm currently on vacation. I tried to blog, but that involved a lot of zooming on my phone, which was incredibly frustrating. So, I'll just update when I get back.

Until then, the last two nights we've walked on the beach, which has been freaking awesome.

Sisters

Today...
my little sister made & served me lunch.
my older sister took me out for impromptu sno cones.

I'm pretty blessed to have them for sisters. <3
